Thank you for registering for the Maryland Chiropractic Associations Chiropractic Assistant Course. We hope you will find this course informative and all-encompassing. 

PLEASE DOWNLOAD THE MCA CA COURSE REQUIREMENTS DOCUMENT FOR ALL INFORMATION REGARDING THE CLASS. 

Please see the following basic course information:

  • Hands-On Classes: In addition to the online modules, applicants will need to attend three (3) in-person/hands-on classes. Doctors and CA trainees, please note: You do NOT need to finish the video portion of the course to attend hands-on sessions.  In order to complete the requirements by the deadlines, start attending them as soon as possible. Visit https://marylandchiro.com/MCA_Chiropractic_Assistant_Course for the upcoming dates for the Hands-On classes. Email info@marylandchiro.com with the dates you wish to attend. We will confirm your registration via email and send you a detailed notice. 
     
  • Register with MD Board of Examiners: CAs are required to be registered as a "CA Applicant" as soon as they are hired.  There are stiff penalties if a CA is found working without first being registered with the Board of Examiners so do not delay registering any new CAs.
     
  • Timeframe: CA applicants must complete all requirements within 10 months of registration so their application and documentation can be submitted, and so they can complete their examination within a one-year period of hire.  Dates of examination can be found in the "Exam Resource" section of the Board of Examiners Website at https://health.maryland.gov/chiropractic/Pages/exam.aspx.
     
  • CPR Training and In-Service Hours: CAs must complete their online and hands-on training, show a certificate of "Provider Level" Red Cross or American Heart Association CPR training, and submit them with documentation of 520 hours in office training 30 days prior to the date of examination. It is the Supervising chiropractor's duty to document 520 hours of in-service training.

Louis S. Crivelli, DC, MS Related Seminars and Products

Dr. Louis Crivelli received his doctorate in Chiropractic from the National University of Health Sciences in 2001. He also holds a master’s degree in Nutrition from the University of Bridgeport, and a bachelor’s degree in Biology from Muhlenberg College.


He is a former President, Board Chair, and First Vice President of the Maryland Chiropractic Association and was voted Chiropractor of the Year for 2016, 2018 and again in 2019. He has served for many years on the Insurance and Legislative/Legal Committees as well as serving as the PAC Chair.  Dr. Crivelli is the Maryland delegate for the American Chiropractic Association and the current Chair of the ACA Clinical Best Practices Task Force. 


In addition, Dr. Crivelli is the Immediate Past Chair of the Clinical Compass, formerly the Council on Chiropractic Guidelines and Practice Parameters (CCGPP).  He is a co-author on the most recent clinical practice guidelines on Neck Pain, Low Back Pain, Chronic Pain, Health Promotion and Disease Prevention, and the upcoming Headache.


He also serves on the Research Workgroup for the Chiropractic Strategic Plan, is a lifetime fellow of the International College of Chiropractors, a member of the North American Spine Society, American Chiropractic Association’s Council on Forensic Sciences, the Association for the History of Chiropractic, the Unified Virginia Chiropractic Association, and the American College of Nutrition.


Dr. Crivelli is the Director of Chiropractic for APT Healthcare, a multidisciplinary company with over 60 locations in Maryland, Virginia, and Washington DC. He lives in Crofton, MD with his wife Christiane and his children, Louis and Harper.
